About the Midwest Lacrosse Conference

The Midwest Lacrosse Conference (MLC) began play in the spring of 2010 and enters its 14th season in the spring of 20223.

The conference is comprised of NCAA Division III institutions located throughout the Midwest including Cornell (Mt. Vernon, Iowa), Dubuque (Dubuque, Iowa), Lake Forest (Lake Forest, Ill.), Northland (Ashland, Wis.) and Northwestern (St. Paul, Minn.).

Adrian, Albion and Trine left the Midwest Lacrosse Conference after the 2012 season when the Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association (MIAA) began sponsoring men's lacrosse. Augustana, Benedictine, Defiance and Elmhurst began conference play in the spring of 2013, joining members Aurora, Carthage, Concordia Wisconsin, Fontbonne, Hanover, Milwaukee School of Engineering and Mount St. Joseph.

At the end of the 2014 season, the CCIW and HCAC schools left the MLC to participate in their respective conferences.

Beloit and Cornell began conference play in the spring of 2015, joining members Aurora, Benedictine, Concordia Wisconsin, Fontbonne, and MSOE, while Concordia Chicago joined in 2016.

Monmouth joined the MLC ranks in the spring of 2017, Marian in 2018, while North Central and Northwestern became members in 2019, and Illinois Tech in 2020.

Fontbonne left the league just prior to the 2020 season, while the NACC members left the MLC to participate in their core conference at the conclusion of 2020. Beloit left after the 2021 season due to joining the NACC as an affiliate member. North Central discontinued the program in 2020 and Monmouth after the 2023 season.

Dubuque and Lake Forest joined the league for the 2022 season.
