BELOIT, Wis. - The Benedictine University women's lacrosse team finished a stretch of three consecutive road contests by opening play in the Midwest Women's Lacrosse Conference with a 13-2 loss to Beloit.
After falling behind 1-0 early, Benedictine tied the score with 23:48 remaining in the opening half.
Becca Gullett scored unassisted to even the contest. Beloit then ripped off 12 consecutive goals, putting the MWLC opener for both teams out of reach. The hosts led 5-1 at the half. Gullett broke the run by scoring with just 17 seconds to play, accounting for the final.
Benedictine collected 25 groundballs in the loss. Gullett led the way with six and also paced the Eagles with five shots.
Kam Haifleigh added five groundballs and
Jackie Andrews four.
Hannah Smith stopped seven shots in goal.
Benedictine (0-7) hosts Elmhurst on Friday night.
