Aurora's Max Obriecht Named to Three USILA Honors

AURORA, IL - The United States Intercollegiate Lacrosse Association announced the 2015 All-American, Scholar All-American and Division III North-South Teams with Aurora University senior midfielder Max Obriecht (Naperville, Illinois/Naperville North H.S.) being named to all three. In addition to be named a Scholar All-American with a 3.09 grade point average, Obriecht received an Honorable Mention All-American for the third straight season and  is one of 65 senior Division III men's lacrosse players who will play in the 2015 USILA/LaxWorld North-South Game.
 
To be named to the USILA Scholar All-American Team, student-athletes must be a senior in academic standing and carry a cumulative grade point average above a 3.00. The athlete also must be an All-American, a member of the North-South team or an outstanding league or conference player. And the student-athlete will have behaved in a manner that has brought credit to himself, his institution and to college lacrosse both on and off the field.
In his final season as a Spartan, Obriecht was named the Midwest Lacrosse Conference Offensive Player of the Year and was a First-Team All-Conference selection for the third straight season. He led the Spartans with 49 goals, while dishing out 29 assists. He had five man-up goals and went 188-of-319 in faceoff opportunities.
 
In 2013, Obriecht was the first AU men's lacrosse player in the brief history of the Spartan program to be named a USILA All-American and has now repeated that accomplishment for the third time.
 
The 74th USILA/LaxWorld North-South Games will be played at Cabrini College in Radnor, Pennsylvania on Friday, May 22, 2015. The Division III All-Star game will be held at 3:00 p.m. (EST).
 
The AU men's lacrosse team finished the 2015 season with a 14-8 overall record. The Spartans made their third consecutive appearance in the NCAA Division III Men's Lacrosse Championships in the fifth season of play for the program and went to the Sweet 16. AU was the 2015 regular season and tournament champions in the Midwest Lacrosse Conference and went 6-0 in the MLC regular season.
