Monmouth College's Jeff Knapp and Concordia University Chicago's Jack Liskey have been named the Midwest Lacrosse Conference offensive and defensive players of the week for events of February 25-March 3, as selected by the league's sports information directors.
Knapp (Nolensville, Tenn.) scored early and often in Saturday's 10-3 season-opening win over Carroll University. The sophomore midfielder netted the game's first and third goals as the Fighting Scots opened up a 5-0 halftime lead. He added three more in the second half for a five-goal, one-assist day.
Liskey (Crown Point, Ind.) had a 65.4 save percentage for the Cougars on opening day. The sophomore stopped 17 shots as CUC competed in its first overtime game in program history, a tough 9-8 loss to Oglethorpe University.
