Lake Forest selected atop preseason poll

MINNEAPOLIS — Lake Forest College has been selected to win the 2024 Midwest Lacrosse Conference (MLC) championship according to the preseason poll, voted on by the league's head coaches. The Foresters earned 15 total points and three first-place votes. Lake Forest swept the regular season and conference tournament titles in 2023.

Dubuque was picked to finish second with 14 points and received two first-place votes. Northwestern was picked third with nine points, Northland was selected fourth with seven points, and Cornell completed the poll with five points. 

The MLC's regular-season standings determine the teams that qualify for the four-team conference tournament, while the tournament champion receives the league's automatic bid to the NCAA Tournament.

The MLC is in its 14th season of league competition, with Aurora University having claimed the most postseason titles in conference history with six.
