Northwestern sweeps MLC men’s weekly awards

MINNEAPOLIS— The University of Northwestern's Khoa Vu and Ryan Adkins were named the Midwest Lacrosse Conference (MLC) men's offensive and defensive players of the week, respectively, for events March 11-17, as selected by the league's head coaches. 

Vu (Shakopee, Minn.) had three goals and added eight assists in Saturday's 21-5 win over Marian. He added two ground balls and one caused turnover. Vu is fifth amongst all MLC players in assists, ninth in points, and 11th in goals.

Adkins (St. Michael, Minn.) was 20-27 at faceoff, had one ground ball and one caused turnover in Saturday's victory. He added four goals and three assists.  Adkins ranks sixth among all MLC players in ground balls, is 11th in goals, and is 15th in points.

This is the first career MLC weekly honor for Vu and second for Adkins.

The MLC is comprised of NCAA Division III institutions located throughout the Midwest including Cornell (Mt. Vernon, Iowa), Dubuque (Dubuque, Iowa), Lake Forest (Lake Forest, Ill.), Northland (Ashland, Wis.), and Northwestern (St. Paul, Minn.).
