Herbert, Doyle earn MLC men’s weekly awards

MINNEAPOLIS— Lake Forest College's Brendan Herbert and the University of Dubuque's Ryan Doyle were named the Midwest Lacrosse Conference (MLC) men's offensive and defensive players of the week, respectively, for events March 18-24, as selected by the league's head coaches. 

Herbert (Milford, N.H.) scored eight goals and added an assist over the two wins on the week for the Foresters. "He had an impressive eight goals on 15 shots (.533 shooting percentage), while recording just three total turnovers," said head coach Phil Dodson. 

Doyle (Brighton, Mich.) had 21 ground balls and 11 caused turnovers over the two victories for the Spartans. "He had a huge game against MSOE with eight caused turnovers and 11 ground balls," said head coach Kasey Burst. "Then, he followed that up with another 10 ground balls and three caused turnovers against Adrian."

This is the second career MLC weekly honor for Herbert and ninth for Doyle.

The MLC is comprised of NCAA Division III institutions located throughout the Midwest including Cornell (Mt. Vernon, Iowa), Dubuque (Dubuque, Iowa), Lake Forest (Lake Forest, Ill.), Northland (Ashland, Wis.), and Northwestern (St. Paul, Minn.).
