Todd, Doyle earn MLC men’s weekly awards

MINNEAPOLIS— The University of Dubuque's Sam Todd and Ryan Doyle were named the Midwest Lacrosse Conference (MLC) men's offensive and defensive players of the week, respectively, for events March 25-31, as selected by the league's head coaches. 

Todd (St. Louis) scored 13 goals and added six assists over the three games for the Spartans this week. "He had his best game of the season Wednesday against North Central College where he had five goals and three assists and was huge in our fourth quarter comeback," said head coach Kasey Burst. 

Doyle (Brighton, Mich.) had 20 ground balls, 11 caused turnovers, and two assists over the three contests for Dubuque. "He was huge against North Central in orchestrating a late comeback in our 10-man ride and on the faceoff wing," said Burst. 

This is the third career MLC weekly honor for Todd and 10th for Doyle.

The MLC is comprised of NCAA Division III institutions located throughout the Midwest including Cornell (Mt. Vernon, Iowa), Dubuque (Dubuque, Iowa), Lake Forest (Lake Forest, Ill.), Northland (Ashland, Wis.), and Northwestern (St. Paul, Minn.).
