Carthage College junior midfielder Remy Giacotto (Elmwood Park, Ill./Oak Park-Fenwick) helped the Red Men post a 1-1 record and has been named the Midwest Lacrosse Conference Player of the Week on defense.
The junior finished the week with 15 ground balls and was a combined 30-of-42 on face-offs for a 71% percentage.
Giacotto totaled 10 ground balls and was 14-of-16 on face-offs during a 23-1 victory over Calvin, while converting 16-of-26 face-offs with five ground balls in a narrow 15-12 loss to Albion.
Carthage (1-1, 0-0 MLC) will return to action on Sunday at Centre.
