WAUKESHA, WI - The Beloit women's lacrosse team opened the season with a tough 17-11 loss to Albion on Sunday.

Offensively, junior midfielder Libby Storrick (Coon Rapids, Minn./H.S.) led the Bucs with two goals and three assists, while adding six draw controls. 

Sophomore goalkeeper Marie Bonine (Stillwater, Minn./H.S.) led the Bucs defense in the opener. The sophomore recorded 21 saves with a 55.3% save percentage and added two caused turnovers in the loss to the Britons.

Beloit (0-1, 0-0 MWLC) will return to the field on Wednesday, March 4 against Elmhurst.

In other action...

Benedictine University (0-1, 0-0 MWLC), Cornell College (0-1, 0-0 MWLC), and Loras College (0-2, 0-0 MWLC) opened the season with losses.  The Eagles fell 24-4 at home to Dubuque, the Rams dopped an 11-3 decision at Illinois Wesleyan, and the Duhawks lost a pair of contests to Carthage and Augsburg.
