MWLC Report (Week 4) - Illinois Tech Finishes Week 2-1 in Non-league Play

WAUKESHA, WI - The Illinois Institute of Technology women's lacrosse team finished the week with a 2-1 mark in non-conference action.  The Scarlet Hawks (3-2, 1-1 MWLC) beat Benedictine (Kan.) 15-11 and Dallas 14-5 prior to a 12-9 setback at Huntingdon.

Freshman Alyssa DeLuca (Wrentham, Mass./King Philip) led the Scarlet Hawks with 12 goals, one assist, three ground balls, nine draw controls and two caused turnovers during the three matches.

DeLuca found the back of the net six times in the win over Benedictine (Kan.) and added four more goals in the win at Dallas.

Illinois Tech will return to action at home on Saturday against Beloit.

In other action...

Concordia University (3-0, 2-0 MWLC) improved to 3-0 on the season with a narrow 10-9 win over North Central Saturday. Freshman Lauren Paquin (Waukesha, Wis./West) led the Falcons with five goals and two ground balls in the win over the Cardinals.

Benedictine University (2-2, 1-0 MWLC) won its MWLC opener, beating Beloit (1-6, 1-2 MWLC) 14-7 Saturday. Junior Becca Gullett (Lockport, Ill./H.S.) scored three goals and finished the contest with five ground balls, five draw controls and three caused turnovers.

Wartburg College (3-1, 1-0 MWLC) won its second-straight match, beating Concordia-Chicago (0-6, 0-2 MWLC) 20-5 in the conference opener for the Knights. Senior Megan Howe (Monona, Iowa/MFL MarMac) led the charge with six goals and one assist.

Loras College (1-1, 1-1 MWLC) claimed its first win of the season, beating Cornell College (0-4, 0-1 MWLC) 16-10 in MWLC action. Senior Kaitlyn Kutsch (Dubuque, Iowa/Wahlert Catholic) stuffed the stat sheet with seven goals, one assist, one ground ball, 11 draw controls and two caused turnovers.
