WAUKESHA, WI - The Concordia University women's lacrosse team secured a spot in the upcoming MWLC tournament and remained perfect in league play with a 12-7 win over Benedictine (6-6, 4-2 MWLC) Saturday.  The Falcons (10-1, 6-0 MWLC) currently lead Aurora and Illinois Tech  by one game in the race for a conference title.

Sophomore Allison Kurek (Chicago, Ill./Nazareth Academy) continued her excellent season with six goals, eight ground balls, three draw controls and four caused turnovers in the win.

Concordia can secure at least a share of the MWLC title and top seed with road wins over Wartburg and Cornell College this weekend.

In other MWLC action...

Illinois Tech (10-4, 5-1 MWLC) claimed its fifth league win with an 11-7 win over Augsburg Wednesday evening. Illinois Tech sophomore Cassandra Reineke (Waukegan, Ill./Carmel) totaled four caused turnovers and three ground balls in the conference win.

Aurora University (7-6, 5-1 MWLC) remained in a second place tie in the standings with Illinois Tech following a 20-4 win over Beloit. Senior midfield Danielle Morgan (Mulkiteo, Washington/Kamiak) scored five goals with one assist, three ground balls, four draw controls and one caused turnover against the Bucs.

Wartburg College (7-7, 3-4 MWLC) snapped a six-match losing streak with a 20-7 win over Loras Saturday and capped the week with a 10-9 non-league win over Northwestern-St. Paul. Senior Ashley Lahti (Turtle Lake, Wis./H.S.) led the Knights with eight goals and four draw controls in the conference win over the Duhawks.
