MEQUON, WI – After winning a second regular season title in 2016, Concordia claimed its second-straight Midwest Women's Lacrosse Conference (MWLC) Tournament title with a 16-6 win over Aurora Saturday.
With the win, the Falcons (15-2, 9-0 MWLC) earned the conference's automatic bid to the NCAA Division III Women's Lacrosse Championship. The full field will be announced on Sunday, May 8 at 9:30PM (EST) via NCAA.com.
The No. 1 seeded Falcons advanced to the title game with a 13-2 victory over fourth-seed Benedictine on Friday. In the other semifinal match, the Spartans (10-9, 7-2 MWLC) defeated three-seed Augsburg 22-16.
In Saturday's championship, sophomore Allison Kurek (Chicago, Ill./Nazareth Academy) scored seven goals with four ground balls, five draw controls, and two caused turnovers, while Lauren Paquin (Waukesha, Wis./West) and Sabrina Boehlke (Random Lake, Wis./Kewaskum) each added four goals to lead CUW.
Aurora received three goals and one assist from junior Lauren Whitfield (Rockford, Mich./H.S.) in the loss.
