Beloit, WI – After a national search, Beloit College has named Mallory Bahr as its head Women’s Lacrosse coach, Director of Athletics & Recreation Tim Schmiechen has announced.

She will begin her duties on July 6.

Bahr arrives in Beloit as the Buccaneers’ third head Women’s Lacrosse coach in the program’s history after a season as the assistant coach at Huntingdon College in Montgomery, Alabama.

A native of Hartland, Wisconsin, she is a 2014 graduate of North Central College, where she earned her Bachelor of Arts degree in Sports Management.

"I am extremely excited for the opportunity to lead the Beloit College Women's Lacrosse program,” said Bahr.  “I am eager to build relationships with the players and continue the recruiting process in order to make Beloit a threat to be reckoned with.  I have been extremely impressed with the Beloit College community and I am excited to come back to Wisconsin to become a part of it.  It is my goal to consistently recruit high quality student-athletes and help each player in our program reach their full potential.  I would love to bring more local talent and expand other recruiting bases here at Beloit. I am very excited to be a part of this community.”

Prior to Huntingdon, Bahr was the Head Girls Lacrosse Coach at Camp Towanda in Honesdale, Pennsylvania.  She also has several years of coaching at various summer programs as well as serving an internship in the Athletic Department at North Central.

“We are very excited to have Mallory join us,” said Schmiechen.  “Her successes with recruiting, passion for the sport, and her belief in a liberal arts education make her a great asset for our department and Beloit College.”

Bahr was a four-year attacker for the Women’s Lacrosse squad at North Central.  She played in 49 games for the Cardinals, scoring 56 goals and adding 13 assists in her career.

Beloit College is a residential, liberal arts college offering 40 majors to its 1,250-plus students.  It is located 90 miles northwest of Chicago and is one of the nation’s most international colleges, drawing students from more than 40 nations as well as every state.
