Hamline University's Dana Almquist and Molly Dionne have been named the Midwest Women's Lacrosse Conference offensive and defensive players of the week for events of March 6-12, as selected by the league's sports information directors.

Almquist (Stillwater, Minnesota) scored five times in a home-opening win over Northland College that was interrupted by lightning for an hour. The junior had a goal in just 10 minutes of playing time in the first MWLC game in Piper history -- the win over Cornell College -- and added three more Sunday in 20-degree weather in the win over University of Dubuque.

Dionne (Hopkins, Minn.) was superb in goal in the Pipers' three wins last week. She started the win over Northland but left the goal at 18 minutes with Hamline holding a big lead. The sophomore was in goal for the first half of Hamline's win over Cornell, leaving with a 13-0 lead at halftime. She went the distance versus Dubuque, where she was beaten just once until the final eight minutes of play.
