GETTYSBURG, Pennsylvania -- Dana Almquist scored twice but it wasn't enough to overcome an early hole as the Hamline women's lacrosse team fell, 18-2, to Farleigh Dickinson-Florham in a NCAA Division III first-round game Saturday.

The Devils scored the first nine goals of the game before Almquist, who ended the season with a school record 71 markers, found the net for the Pipers. The Hugo, Minn. junior struck again just before halftime for HU.

Molly Dionne recorded eight saves in goals for the Pipers before giving way to Katie Butler, who played the last 8:29 of the game -- Hamline's first ever in NCAA lacrosse competition. Almquist had five of the team's 12 shots. Radian Lenz and Sydney Dynneson added two each.

The Pipers, in just their second year of competition at the varsity level, finished the season with a 15-5 won-loss mark. There are 14 underclassmen on head coach Karen Heggernes' roster.
