AURORA, Ill. -- The College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA) announce the 2020 Academic All-America® Division III at-large teams this morning and Aurora University senior women's lacrosse goalie Reilly Armstrong added to her impressive list of honors achieved in the 2019-2020 season as a Spartan. Armstrong was selected to the CoSIDA Second-Team All-America team in the at-large division which includes student-athletes from around Division III in the sports of lacrosse, golf, wrestling, swimming, tennis, hockey, water polo, skiing, gymnastics, crew and field hockey.

The CoSIDA Academic All-America® honor which is chosen based on the student-athletes combined prowess on the field and in the classroom is the latest achievement in an immensely successful 2019-2020 year for Armstrong. She becomes the 33rd CoSIDA Academic All-America selection for AU.

Just yesterday, Armstrong was honored with the distinction of being the 2019-2020 AU Spartan Woman of the Year, honoring a graduating female student-athlete who had exhausted her eligibility and distinguished herself throughout her collegiate careers in academics, athletics, service and leadership.

Armstrong completed her undergrad and masters at AU in four years with a perfect 4.0 grade point average while being a four-time Midwest Women's Lacrosse Conference All-Academic selection and Aurora University Spartan Scholar. In goal on the women's lacrosse team, Armstrong held a 34-23 career record with a 8.71 GAA and .482 save percentage. She was an all-conference selection as a junior and conference freshman of the year in 2017 while being named the AU Chris Thompson recipient for 2019-2020.

The Academic All-America teams are selected by CoSIDA member sports information directors based on the student-athletes' academic prowess while being a steady influence on their respective athletic field. To be considered for the honor, the nominated student-athletes are required to maintain a minimum 3.30 cumulative grade-point average throughout their academic career at their respective institution.
