Lewis, Methe, Selquist earn MWLC weekly awards

MINNEAPOLIS— Cornell College's Meg Lewis was named the Midwest Women's Lacrosse Conference (MWLC) offensive and player of the week while Cornell's Anna Methe and Monmouth College's Lea Selquist both earned defensive player of the week honors, for events February 20-26, as selected by the league's head coaches.

Lewis (Sophomore, Santa Fe, N.M.) scored two goals, added an assist, had four draw controls, and three ground balls in Saturday's 6-2 win over Beloit.

Methe (Junior, Omaha, Neb.) scored one goal, had eight ground balls, three caused turnovers, and two draw controls in the victory over the Buccaneers.

Selquist (Sophomore, Peru, Ill.) made 15 saves in her first career game in the cage in Saturday's season opener. 

This is the first career MWLC honor for the trio.

The MWLC is comprised of NCAA Division III institutions located throughout the Midwest including Augsburg (Minneapolis), Cornell (Mt. Vernon, Iowa), Hamline (St. Paul, Minn.), Lake Forest (Lake Forest, Ill.), Monmouth (Monmouth, Ill.), Northwestern (St. Paul, Minn.), Saint Benedict (St. Joseph, Minn.), and Wartburg (Waverly, Iowa).
