Wiebold, Zanoni, Koffler earn MWLC weekly awards

MINNEAPOLIS— The University of Northwestern's Samantha Wiebold and Cornell College's Cece Zanoni both earned Midwest Women's Lacrosse Conference (MWLC) offensive player of the week honors and Northwestern's Daisy Koffler was named the defensive player of the week, for events March 6-12, as selected by the league's head coaches.

Wiebold (Farmington, Minn.) scored nine goals and added four assists for 13 points over the three Spring Break games in Virginia last week. She added 10 draw controls and one caused turnover.

Zanoni (Mundelein, Ill.) had 10 goals over three games last week, which included two contests on the West Coast over the weekend. She added four caused turnovers against Augustana last Wednesday.

Koffler (Pine City, Minn.) played all 180 minutes as goalkeeper and made 27 saves and a 55.1 save percentage over the three Spring Break contests for the Eagles. 

This is the third career MWLC honor for Wiebold and first for Zanoni and Koffler.

The MWLC is comprised of NCAA Division III institutions located throughout the Midwest including Augsburg (Minneapolis), Cornell (Mt. Vernon, Iowa), Hamline (St. Paul, Minn.), Lake Forest (Lake Forest, Ill.), Monmouth (Monmouth, Ill.), Northwestern (St. Paul, Minn.), Saint Benedict (St. Joseph, Minn.), and Wartburg (Waverly, Iowa).
