Hackley, Reu earn MLC women’s weekly awards

MINNEAPOLIS—The College of Saint Benedict's Sami Hackley and the University of Northwestern's Maren Reu have been named the Midwest Lacrosse Conference (MLC) women's offensive and defensive players of the week respectively, for events April 22-28 as selected by the league's head coaches.

Hackley (Plymouth, Minn.) scored nine goals over the two games last week for the Bennies. She added five ground balls, four caused turnovers and one draw control. Against other MLC players, she leads the league in goals (26) and is third in points (27).

Reu (Sioux Falls, S.D.) had nine caused turnovers and five ground balls in the two games last week for the Eagles. In conference games, she is tied for ninth in caused turnovers (8).

This is the second career MLC honor for the duo.

The MLC is comprised of NCAA Division III institutions located throughout the Midwest including Augsburg (Minneapolis), Cornell (Mt. Vernon, Iowa), Hamline (St. Paul, Minn.), Lake Forest (Lake Forest, Ill.), Northwestern (St. Paul, Minn.), and Saint Benedict (St. Joseph, Minn.).
