Lake Forest wins second-straight MLC Tournament Championship

ST. JOSEPH, Minn. -- Lake Forest College defeated the College of Saint Benedict 15-14 in the Midwest Lacrosse Conference (MLC) Tournament championship Saturday afternoon.

The Foresters won their second-straight MWLC tournament championship and received the league's automatic bid to the NCAA Tournament next week. 

Saint Benedict's Emma Osland scored on a pass from Grace Fitzgibbons to tie the game with 4:51 to play in the fourth quarter.

Lake Forest's Eva Russell scored the game-winning goal with 26 seconds left. 

Cecilia Adams was named Tournament MVP for her play over the two games.

This is the first championship under first-year head coach Casey Ryan in Lake Forest's third season as a varsity program.

The NCAA selection show will be Monday, May 6 at 9:30 a.m.
