Beloit College freshman goalie Marie Bonine (Stillwater, Minn./H.S.) posted a 2-1 record in net for the Buccaneers last week and has been named the Midwest Women’s Lacrosse Conference Player of the Week on defense.
The freshman tallied six saves with four ground balls in a 17-4 win over Hilbert and added six more saves with three ground balls in a 17-14 league victory over Mount St. Joseph. In a 15-6 loss to Ohio Wesleyan, Bonine racked up a school-record 15 saves with four ground balls.
For the week, Bonine posted 27 saves while allowing 8.67 goals per contest.
Beloit (3-1, 1-0 MWLC) is scheduled to face Otterbein, North Central, and Albion this week.
