Sieracki scores 5 goals in Auggie win

MOUNT VERNON, Iowa -- Dezera Sieracki (SO, Wyoming, Minn./Centennial HS) scored five goals, leading the Augsburg College women's lacrosse team in a 17-8 win over Cornell College in a nonconference contest on Sunday afternoon at Ash Park.

HOW IT HAPPENED
• Augsburg scored the first four goals of the game, en route to a 12-2 halftime advantage. Augsburg outshot Cornell 30-8 in the first half and held a 45-19 shots advantage in the game.
• Sieracki added two draw controls, two caused turnovers and two ground balls to her five-goal effort in the game.
• Delaney Everett (FY, Brooklyn Center, Minn./Champlin Park HS) scored four goals for the Auggies, including three goals on free-position attempts. She also had four ground balls and three caused turnovers.
• Ashley Pettipiece (FY, Mounds View, Minn./Irondale HS) scord three goals and added three ground balls, while Helena Nguyen (FY, Maple Grove, Minn.) had two goals and an assist.
• Rachel Frantz (SO, Mounds View, Minn./Irondale HS) had a goal and an assist, adding a team-best 12 draw controls along with four ground balls. Jesse Heusinkveld (FY, Mound, Minn./Mound-Westonka HS) and Shelby Brion (SO, Clearwater, Minn./Monticello HS) also scored for the Auggies.
• Augsburg had 18 draw controls to Cornell's nine, with Lexi Halvorson (SO, Lakeville, Minn./Lakeville South HS) claiming three draw controls.
• Augsburg converted on 9-of-18 free-position attempts and had 12 clears in 15 attempts.

• Goalie Marissa Guillou (FY, Burnsville, Minn./Apple Valley HS) had three saves.
