MLC Adds Three Schools for 2014-15

LISLE, Ill. - Midwest Lacrosse Conference (MLC) administrators approved the additions of Beloit College, Carroll University, and Cornell College on Wednesday.

All three institutions will begin will begin MLC play in the spring of 2015, giving the conference eight new members in the last year. Augustana, Benedictine, Defiance and Elmhurst began conference play in the spring of 2013.

Beloit, located in Beloit, Wis., played its inaugural season of men's lacrosse in 2013, finishing 6-6 while competing as an independent. The Buccaneers are led by head coach Bob Dignazio. Cornell, located in Mt. Vernon, Iowa, will compete for the first time in 2015 and have announced the hiring of Andrew Bonasera to serve as head coach. Carroll just announced earlier this month the addition of men's lacrosse.

The Midwest Lacrosse Conference began play in the spring of 2010 and will be composed of 11 NCAA Division III colleges and universities in the spring of 2014. Membership includes Augustana (Rock Island, Ill.), Aurora (Aurora, Ill.), Benedictine (Lisle, Ill.), Carthage (Kenosha, Wis.), Concordia Wisconsin (Mequon, Wis.), Defiance (Defiance, Ohio), Elmhurst (Elmhurst, Ill.), Fontbonne (St. Louis, Mo.), Hanover (Hanover, Ind.), Milwaukee School of Engineering (Milwaukee, Wis.) and Mount St. Joseph (Cincinnati, Ohio).
