MLC Report (Week 7) - Aurora Finishes Week 3-0 Overall

WAUKESHA, WI - Aurora University finished a perfect week going 3-0 overall and 1-0 in conference action.  The Spartans (5-3, 3-0 MLC) posted wins over NCAA Division II Adams State and Trine in non-conference play, while beating Mount St. Joseph in conference action.

Junior attacker Jordan Williams (Mesa, Ariz./Red Mountain) led the Spartans offense during the week.  Williams netted a team-high three goals with one assist in a 12-3 league win over Mount St. Joseph, added three goals in AU's 13-3 win over Adams State, and closed the week with a goal and an assist in an 11-7 triumph over Trine.

On the week, Williams had a team-leading seven goals and a .412 shot percentage with two assists, one ground ball, and two caused turnovers.

Aurora is scheduled to face Carthage and Whittier this week.

In other MLC action...

Carthage (8-2, 4-0 MLC) sits atop the MLC standings at 4-0, following a 13-3 win over Benedictine (6-3, 2-1 MLC) last Wednesday evening.  The Red Men received four goals and an assist from senior Danny Morse (O'Fallon, Ill./Township) in the win over the Eagles.

Benedictine bounced back from the loss to Carthage to slip past Hanover (7-3, 3-2 MLC) 8-7 Saturday.  Sophomore midfielder Andrew Zmijewski (Gurnee, Ill./Warren Township) scored two goals with two assists and four ground balls in the win.

Concordia University (7-2, 3-0 MLC) finished the week 2-0 in non-conference play.   The Falcons beat Adrian for the first time in program history, earning an 11-10 road win over the Bulldogs.  Senior midfielder Peter Morton (Albany, Ga./Westover) netted the game-winner with just over a minute to play in regulation.

Augustana (5-3, 2-1 MLC) was dominant in a 23-1 win over Defiance (0-8, 0-3 MLC) Saturday. The Vikings had 11 different players score a goal in the win with Kyle Doner (Erie, Colo./Peak to Peak) leading the way with six goals and three assists.

Elmhurst College (4-4, 2-1 MLC) ran its win streak to three-straight with an 11-8 victory at Fontbonne (2-9, 1-4 MLC) Saturday.  Freshman midfielder Drew Wassenaar (Lenoir City, Tenn./Young Harris) led the Bluejays with five goals and two ground balls against the Griffins.
