Aurora's Max Obriecht Named USILA All-American

The United States Intercollegiate Lacrosse Association All-American Teams were announced on Tuesday, May 20 with Aurora University junior midfielder Max Obriecht (Naperville, Ill./North) being named Honorable Mention All-American for the second consecutive season.
 
The AU men's lacrosse team finished the 2014 season with a school record for wins and a 16-4 overall record. The Spartans made their second consecutive appearance in the NCAA Division III Men's Lacrosse Championships in the fourth season of play for the program and went to the Sweet 16. AU was the 2014 regular season and tournament champions in the Midwest Lacrosse Conference and went 10-0 in the MLC regular season.
 
Obriecht was named the Midwest Lacrosse Conference Offensive Player of the Year and was a First-Team All-Conference selection. He led the Spartans with 60 goals, while dishing out 37 assists. He had six man-up goals and went 242-of-336 in faceoff opportunities.
 
As of the May 12 NCAA Division III statistical rankings, Obriecht is 12th in points per game (4.85), second in face-off win percentage (.720), fourth in ground balls per game (10.95), and 25th in goals per game (3.00).
 
In 2013, Obriecht was the first AU men's lacrosse player in the brief history of the Spartan program to be named a USILA All-American.
