Aurora Captures Second-Straight MLC Tournament Title

AURORA, IL – After winning a second-straight regular season title in 2014, Aurora claimed its second-consecutive Midwest Lacrosse Conference (MLC) Tournament title with a 9-6 win over Carthage Saturday.

With the win, the Spartans earned the conference's automatic bid to the NCAA Division III Men's Lacrosse Chamionship. The full field will be announced on Sunday, May 4 at 10PM (EST) via NCAA.com.

The No. 1 seeded Spartans advanced to the title game with a 15-6 victory over fourth-seed Augustana on Wednesday. In the other semifinal match, the Red Men defeated second-seed Concordia (Wis.) 10-5.

In Saturday's championship, senior midfielder Jack Barry (San Diego, Calif./Rancho Bernardo) scored four goals with two ground balls and two caused turnovers to lead Aurora.  Carthage received two goals and an assist from senior midfielder Jack Meachum (Naperville, Ill./North) in the loss.

This was Aurora's third-straight appearance in the tournament final while Carthage made its second-straight appearance in the championship match.
