WAUKESHA, WI - The Beloit College men's lacrosse team earned its first two conference wins of the season and stretched its win streak to three-straight following two wins last week. The Bucs (4-7, 2-2 MLC) beat Concordia Chicago 29-4 and MSOE 12-11 during the week.
Sophomore Chris Anderson (Amherst, Mass./Kimball Union) anchored the Bucs defensive effort during the two victories.
The sophomore had five ground balls and one caused turnover in the win over Concordia Chicago and added nine ground balls and six caused turnovers against MSOE (3-5, 0-2 MLC).
For the week, Anderson totaled 14 ground balls and seven caused turnovers in the two wins.
Beloit will travel to Aurora for a 1:00 PM match Saturday.
In other action...
Aurora University (9-2, 2-0 MLC) finished 1-1 in non-confernece action last week. The Spartans fell at Augustana 12-11 and beat Whittier 12-8 Sunday.
Concordia (Wis.) (7-3, 2-0 MLC) also stepped out of conference last week and finished with a split. The Falcons dropped a 15-8 decision to Illinois Wesleyan before capping the week with a 19-5 win over Dubuque Saturday.
Cornell College (3-7, 2-1 MLC) shut out Concordia Chicago (1-10, 0-3 MLC) 19-0 on Saturday. The Rams received seven goals, one assist and four ground balls from A.J. Fisher (Elgin, Ill./Burlington Central) in the win over the Cougars.
Benedictine University (8-3, 1-1 MLC) beat Hanover 17-11 in non-league play in its only action last week. Freshman midfielder Dell Hune (Sun Prairie, Wis./H.S.) scored five goals with one assist and three ground balls in the win over the Panthers.
