It is with great pleasure that Benedictine University announces the hiring of Guy Bourdon to the position of head men's lacrosse coach.

"I couldn't be more excited for the opportunity to join such an outstanding institution," Bourdon said. "I would like to thank the search committee and specifically Mark McHorneyPaul Nelson, and Matt Jones. I look forward to beginning my duties at Benedictine and am very grateful for the time I have spent with coach Dan Sheehan at LeMoyne."

Bourdon arrives at Benedictine after serving as an assistant at LeMoyne College since 2011. LeMoyne has become a perennial NCAA Division II power, winning the 2013 national championship and finishing as the runner-up in 2015. Bourdon was named as the NCAA Division II Assistant Coach of the Year in 2013.

LeMoyne has been to the NCAA tournament 12 times in the last 13 years and won three regular season conference titles along with a pair of conference tournament titles during Bourdon's tenure. The team compiled an impressive overall record of 76-11, including a 50-4 mark in the Northeast-10 Conference.

"Guy made a tremendous impact on our program during his time with us," LeMoyne head coach Dan Sheehan said. "He is a tireless recruiter that always has the best interest of the student-athlete at heart and he played a huge role in the 2013 championship and our being able to compete at a high level consistently."

Bourdon served as the defensive coordinator at the Syracuse, N.Y. school, and coordinated a defensive unit that ranked in the top five in scoring defense in all five years as an assistant. Bourdon, who also worked as the recruiting coordinator, coached 10 all-americans highlighted by five first team choices and the 2015 Goalie of the Year.

"Guy will be an outstanding fit to the university," director of athletics Mark McHorney stated. "With a proven track record of success, he will keep our program moving forward."
