University of Northwestern's Keller Stephens and Concordia University Wisconsin's Garrett Wohlford have been named the Midwest Lacrosse Conference offensive and defensive players of the week for events of February 18-24, as selected by the league's sports information directors.
Stephens (Lino Lakes, Minn.) amassed a career-best nine goals on 13 shots as the Eagles dismantled Johnson & Wales University Denver, 28-2, in the season opener. The junior attacker also tallied an assist and five ground balls in the win.
Wohlford (Rochester, Minn.) stopped a program-record-tying 21 shots during the Falcons' season-opening game at John Carroll University. The senior also had two ground balls and a caused turnover as he played all 60 minutes at goal in the 12-6 loss.
