MLC Selects Players Of The Week For Feb. 24-March 1

Monmouth College's Thomas Van Alstine and Concordia University Wisconsin's Alex Loding have been named the Midwest Lacrosse Conference offensive and defensive players of the week for events of February 24-March 1, as selected by the league's sports information directors.

Van Alstine (McHenry, Ill.) had a record-setting week to help Monmouth roll to a record-setting start. The senior attacker fired in a program-record seven goals in Saturday's 18-6 win over Wabash College, as the Scots rolled off their fourth straight win for the best start in program history. On Tuesday he had scored three goals in Monmouth's 15-2 win over Clarke College. For the week Van Asltine scored 10 goals with four assists with a shot on goal percentage of .548.

Loding (Mundelein, Ill.) made a game-high 19 saves during an 11-6 road nonconference win at the University of Dubuque, where he also had four ground balls and two caused turnovers. The junior goalkeeper had four saves in the first and second quarters, five in the third and six in the final period of play.
