Northwestern Sweeps MLC Weekly Awards

MINNEAPOLIS— The University of Northwestern's Keller Stephens and Peyton LaMere have been named the Midwest Lacrosse Conference (MLC) offensive and defensive players of the week respectively, for events March 22-28 as selected by the league's sports information directors.

LaMere (Holmen, Wis.) was a defensive force for a Northwestern squad that allowed only 19 shots by the Rams. Individually, he caused five turnovers and added five ground balls. LaMere leads the MLC in caused turnovers (seven), and ranks third in ground balls (10).

The MLC is comprised of NCAA Division III institutions located throughout the Midwest including Beloit (Beloit, Wis.), Cornell (Mt. Vernon, Iowa), Monmouth (Monmouth, Ill.), North Central (Minneapolis, Minn.), Northland (Ashland, Wis.), and Northwestern (St. Paul, Minn.).
