Northwestern Wins First MLC Regular Season Championship

ST. PAUL -- The University of Northwestern won its first Midwest Lacrosse Conference (MLC) regular season championship Saturday.

The Eagles finished MLC play undefeated (6-0).  This is the ninth time in conference history the champion has recorded a perfect record.

This is the first championship under head coach Travis Sanders in Northwestern's third year of membership in the MLC.

The Eagles will be the top seed for the conference tournament which begins Wednesday, May 5. The No. 2 seed will host the No. 3 seed in a semifinal game on Wednesday, with the championship Saturday at Northwestern.

Complete information about the tournament will be released Sunday, May 2.
