Linderman, Doyle Earn MLC Weekly Awards

MINNEAPOLIS— Cornell College's John Linderman and the University of Dubuque's Ryan Doyle have been named the Midwest Lacrosse Conference (MLC) offensive and defensive players of the week respectively, for events March 14-20 as selected by the league's head coaches.

Linderman (Lincoln, Neb.) had 10 points with six goals and four assists on the week. "He helped our offensive unit by facilitating and controlling the pace, making good decisions with the ball," said head coach Lane Zierten. "John had some big plays in helping our rally effort against MSOE."

Doyle (Brighton, Mich.) had seven caused turnovers and eight ground balls in the win over Illinois Tech on Saturday. He had four caused turnovers and six ground balls Wednesday against Augustana (Ill.). "His presence in the 10-man and on the wings of the faceoffs allowed us to be in the game late," noted head coach Kasey Burst. "We were down six goals heading into the fourth quarter. We cut the lead to two goals with 1:30 remaining and Ryan was a huge part of that comeback."

This is the first career MLC honor for Lindermann and second for Doyle, as he was previously honored in week three this season.

The MLC is comprised of NCAA Division III institutions located throughout the Midwest including Cornell (Mt. Vernon, Iowa), Dubuque (Dubuque, Iowa), Lake Forest (Lake Forest, Ill.), Monmouth (Monmouth, Ill.), North Central (Minneapolis, Minn.), Northland (Ashland, Wis.), and Northwestern (St. Paul, Minn.).
