Wohlford, Doyle Earn MLC Weekly Awards

MINNEAPOLIS— Northland College's Jakob Wohlford and the University of Dubuque's Ryan Doyle have been named the Midwest Lacrosse Conference (MLC) offensive and defensive players of the week respectively, for events March 21-27 as selected by the league's head coaches.

Wohlford (Rochester, Minn.) had 11 goals and three assists for 14 points in two victories on the week. He had five goals in the 9-5 win over Edgewood Wednesday, and six goals and three assists in the 15-2 win Saturday against Concordia Chicago. He leads the league in goals, assists, and points.

Doyle (Brighton, Mich.) had 19 ground balls and 11 caused turnovers on the week. He had eight ground balls and six caused turnovers against North Central (Ill.) Tuesday, and added 11 ground balls and five caused turnovers in Saturday's 15-6 win against Edgewood. Doyle leads the league and NCAA Division III in caused turnovers.

This is the first career MLC honor for Wohlford, and first in program history for Northland. This is the second-straight and third overall weekly honor for Doyle.

The MLC is comprised of NCAA Division III institutions located throughout the Midwest including Cornell (Mt. Vernon, Iowa), Dubuque (Dubuque, Iowa), Lake Forest (Lake Forest, Ill.), Monmouth (Monmouth, Ill.), North Central (Minneapolis, Minn.), Northland (Ashland, Wis.), and Northwestern (St. Paul, Minn.).
