DUBUQUE, Iowa– The University of Dubuque won its first Midwest Lacrosse Conference (MLC) regular season championship Saturday. 

The Spartans won the outright title with a 16-4 victory over Northland. They finished undefeated (6-0) in MLC play in their inaugural season in the league. 

This is the 10th time in conference history the regular season champion has recorded a perfect record.

Dubuque will be the top seed for the conference tournament which begins Wednesday, May 4. The No. 1 and No. 2 seeds will host a semifinal game on Wednesday, with the championship Saturday at the highest remaining seed.

Complete information about the tournament will be released Sunday, May 1.
