Herbert, Doyle Earn MLC Weekly Awards

MINNEAPOLIS— Lake Forest College's Brendan Herbert and the University of Dubuque's Ryan Doyle have been named the Midwest Lacrosse Conference (MLC) offensive and defensive players of the week respectively, for events February 13-19 as selected by the league's head coaches.

Herbert (Milford, N.H.) scored three goals and added five assists in the season opening victory for the Foresters Saturday. His five assists were more than half of the team's total assists (nine) in that game. 

This is his first career MLC weekly honor.

Doyle (Brighton, Mich.) had 10 caused turnovers and as many ground balls in the season opener for the Spartans Saturday. 

This is his fifth career weekly MLC honor.

The MLC is comprised of NCAA Division III institutions located throughout the Midwest including Cornell (Mt. Vernon, Iowa), Dubuque (Dubuque, Iowa), Lake Forest (Lake Forest, Ill.), Monmouth (Monmouth, Ill.), Northland (Ashland, Wis.), and Northwestern (St. Paul, Minn.).
