Benedictine University sophomore midfielder Robert Abbott (Puyallup, Wash./Emerald Ridge) led the Eagles to a 1-1 week to cap off the season and has been named the Midwest Lacrosse Conference Player of the Week on defense.
Abbott won 11-of-13 face offs with two caused turnovers, six ground balls, and two assists in an 18-1 win over Fontbonne that capped a single season school record for wins with 10. Abbott also scored three times, won three face offs, caused a turnover, and scooped up two ground balls in a 16-6 loss to MLC champ Aurora.
Benedictine (10-6, 6-4 MLC) finished the season tied for fourth in the MLC standings.
