MWLC Selects Players Of The Week For April 1-7

Illinois Tech's Shanie Scoles and Concordia University Wisconsin's Kinsey Weyer have been named the Midwest Women's Lacrosse Conference offensive and defensive players of the week for events of April 1-7, as selected by the league's sports information directors.

Scoles (Mission Viejo, Calif.) scored 19 times in three matches while adding three assists and grabbing 16 draw controls last week. The sophomore midfielder had a nine goal, two assist, five draw control performance in Monday's 18-6 win at Wartburg College, before scoring five times against both Hamline University and Augsburg University last weekend. The Scarlet Hawks lost 15-8 to Hamline and defeated Augsburg, 13-6.

Weyer (Stillwater, Minn.) had two outstanding games in goal for the Falcons during a pair of home MWLC victories. The rookie goalkeeper made nine saves and picked up two ground balls in a close 13-12 home win over the University of Northwestern Friday. She then made 12 saves and had a 70.6 save percentage in a 14-5 victory against Wartburg College Saturday.
