Aurora University's Claire Carlson and Reilly Armstrong have been named the Midwest Women's Lacrosse Conference offensive and defensive players of the week for events of April 8-14, as selected by the league's sports information directors.
Carlson (Blaine, Minn.) had four goals and an assist in the Spartans' first-ever win against Concordia University Wisconsin Wednesday, a 17-8 triumph. The sophomore attacker then added two goals and two assists with five draws, two ground balls and two caused turnovers in a 9-2 win at Beloit College Saturday.
Armstrong (Houston, Texas) was rock solid in the opening 20 minutes against CUW, allowing AU to jump out to a 6-0 lead. She finished the game with six saves. The junior goalkeeper then was stellar in the road win at Beloit where she had five saves and a 71.4 save percentage.
