Loras College's Clare Brunn and Concordia University Chicago's Ryan McGee have been named the Midwest Women's Lacrosse Conference offensive and defensive players of the week for events of February 24-March 1, as selected by the league's sports information directors.
Brunn (Rochester, Minn.) helped lead Loras to a season-opening win, its first against Augsburg University in program history. The sophomore was instrumental in directing the Duhawks' offense as she tallied six goals and one assist in the 12-9 victory.
McGee (Chicago, Ill.) allowed just three goals over a 2-0 week for CUC, including a three-save performance in Concordia's 20-1 win over Elmhurst College Wednesday night. With the dominant win over Elmhurst, McGee helped the Cougars to their highest-scoring effort in program history, in addition to their least amount of goals allowed in a single game. The rookie goalkeeper then tallied four saves in a 19-2 win at Marian University Sunday.
