Loras Sweeps MWLC Weekly Awards

MINNEAPOLIS—Loras College's Hannah Medina and Lydia Phelps have been named the Midwest Women's Lacrosse Conference (MWLC) offensive and defensive players of the week respectively, for events March 1-7 as selected by the league's sports information directors.

In her collegiate debut, Medina (Gypsum, Colo.) scored a team-high four goals on five shot attempts against Augustana on March 3. In the next game against UW-Eau Claire on March 6, she had three goals on four shot attempts. Through two games, she leads the team with seven goals.

Phelps (Grand Rapids, Mich.) had 20 saves in Saturday's win over UW-Eau Claire, which tied the single game record. In the season opener against Augustana, she made 15 saves and had four ground balls.
