Loras Sweeps MWLC Weekly Awards

MINNEAPOLIS—Loras College's Clare Brunn and Kayla Tilkes have been named the Midwest Women's Lacrosse Conference (MWLC) offensive and defensive players of the week respectively, for events March 29-April 4 as selected by the league's sports information directors.

Brunn (Rochester, Minn.) had eight goals on nine shots and added an assist in the 16-7 win over Monmouth on Saturday, April 3. She also led the team with six draw controls and three ground balls. Brunn leads all MWLC players in goals, and is second in points. This is her third MWLC Player of the Week honor this season. Loras improved to 2-0 in MWLC play with the victory.

Tilkes (Evergreen Park, Ill.) tied the single-game school record for caused turnovers with seven. She added 10 ground balls, which ranks fifth on the single-game record list. Tilkes leads the MWLC in caused turnovers, and is second in ground balls. The Duhawks remain undefeated through the first two games of their conference slate.

The MWLC is comprised of NCAA Division III institutions located throughout the Midwest including Augsburg (Minneapolis, Minn.), Beloit (Beloit, Wis.), Cornell (Mt. Vernon, Iowa), Hamline (Saint Paul, Minn.), Loras (Dubuque, Iowa), Monmouth (Monmouth, Ill.), Northwestern (St. Paul, Minn.), and Wartburg (Waverly, Iowa).
