MWLC Announces 2021 Season Awards

MINNEAPOLIS--The Midwest Women's Lacrosse Conference (MWLC) awards have been announced for the 2021 season. All awards are voted on by the league's head coaches.

Loras College's Kayla Tilkes was named Defensive Player of the Year, Wartburg College's Bri Greiskalns was tabbed the Midfielder of the Year, and Hamline University's Ashley Hessler was selected as the Attacker of the Year.

The University of Northwestern's Cara Smith was named the Rookie of the Year.

For the fourth consecutive season, Hamline's Karen Heggernes was voted Coach of the Year by her peers following the Pipers' (7-4, 5-0 MWLC) third-straight regular-season title.
