Wilson, Lewis earn MLC women’s weekly awards

MINNEAPOLIS—Hamline University's Avery Wilson and the College of Saint Benedict's Chloe Lewis have been named the Midwest Lacrosse Conference (MLC) women's offensive and defensive players of the week respectively, for events April 15-21 as selected by the league's head coaches.

Wilson (Rogers, Minn.) scored four goals and added two assists in the Pipers' victory over Augsburg Saturday. Among all MLC players, she is tied for eighth in assists (4), tied for 10th in goals (6), and 11th in points (10).

Lewis (Brooklyn Park, Minn.) played all 60 minutes in net and made 15 saves for a .714 save percentage. Among all conference players, she leads the league in save percentage (64.4) and goals allowed average (5.33), second in wins (4), and fourth in saves (29).

This is the first career MLC honor for Wilson and second for Lewis.

The MLC is comprised of NCAA Division III institutions located throughout the Midwest including Augsburg (Minneapolis), Cornell (Mt. Vernon, Iowa), Hamline (St. Paul, Minn.), Lake Forest (Lake Forest, Ill.), Northwestern (St. Paul, Minn.), and Saint Benedict (St. Joseph, Minn.).
