ST. PAUL– The Midwest Lacrosse Conference (MLC) and Midwest Women's Lacrosse Conference (MWLC) will sunset July 22, 2024.
The conclusion is due to membership changes:
Men's members: Cornell College, the University of Dubuque, and Lake Forest College will be members of the NAAC starting fall 2024. Northland College will be independent starting fall 2024 and the University of Northwestern's program was disbanded following the 2024 season.
Women's members: Cornell College and Lake Forest College will be members of the NAAC starting fall 2024. Augsburg University, Hamline University, and the College of Saint Benedict will be members of the WIAC starting fall of 2024. The University of Northwestern's program was disbanded following the 2024 season.
The MLC began play in the spring of 2010 and the MWLC began play in the spring of 2011. These leagues were originally established due core conferences not sponsoring this sport, and having an automatic qualifier as a route to the NCAA Tournament.
