Benedictine University junior defender Hannah Payne (Villa Park, Ill./Montini) helped the Eagles win their first ever MWLC contests in program history and has been named the Midwest Women’s Lacrosse Conference Player of the Week on defense.
Payne scored four times with seven ground balls, six draw controls, and two caused turnovers in a 10-9 overtime win over Aurora. The junior added two goals, two assists, seven ground balls, two draw controls, and three caused turnovers in a 16-6 win over Fontbonne Saturday.
Benedictine (3-12, 2-7 MWLC) will close the season at home against Loras Tuesday.
