Concordia University (Wis.) sophomore Allison Kurek (Chicago, Ill./Nazareth Academy) led the Falcons defensive effort during a pair of wins last week and has been named the Midwest Women’s Lacrosse Conference Player of the Week on defense.
The sophomore finished with six ground balls, six draw controls and six caused turnovers to go along with five goals and an assist in CUW’s 17-11 win over Illinois Tech. Kurek followed that effort with three ground balls, 10 draw controls and three caused turnovers, while also scoring a pair of goals and assisting on two scores during the Falcons’ 10-9 win over North Central.
For the week, Kurek totaled nine ground balls, 16 draw controls, nine caused turnovers, seven goals and three assists.
Concordia (3-0, 2-0 MWLC) will face Loras and Aurora in road conference matches this week.
