Aurora University's Josh Boyko and Marian University's Johnny Estrada have been named the Midwest Lacrosse Conference offensive and defensive players of the week for events of March 11-17, as selected by the league's sports information directors.
Boyko (Mississauga, Ontario) led the Spartans to a 2-0 start in MLC play with 17 goals and four assists on the week. The sophomore attacker tallied eight goals and three assists in a 23-2 win over Concordia University Chicago Wednesday, then added nine goals and an assist in a 30-2 victory at North Central University Saturday.
Estrada (Pewaukee, Wis.) led the Sabres to a pair of victories in goal. The rookie made 12 saves on 14 shots for an .857 save percentage in a 6-2 win over Monmouth College in MLC action Saturday. He then made another eight saves in a 20-13 win over Northland College Sunday to close out the weekend with 20 total saves for a .571 combined save percentage.
