WAUKESHA, WI - The Aurora women's lacrosse team opened the season with a narrow 14-12 loss to Calvin on Saturday.
Sophomore midfielder Kenny Hughes (Calgary, Alberta/Winston Churchill) led the Spartans offense during the defeat.
The sophomore scored five goals, on eight shots, with three ground balls in the season opening defeat.
Aurora (0-1, 0-0 MWLC) will return to action at home on Saturday against Robert Morris-Chicago.

Benedictine University (0-2, 0-0 MWLC) fell 18-6 at home to Illlinois Wesleyan. Junior defender Lauryn Ligocki (Naperville, Ill./Neuqua Valley) led the Eagles defense with a team-high four ground balls with two caused turnovers.
